Establishment of the Firm

The company's Director, a retired military officer, had served in special purpose forces in different parts of the globe, including Afghanistan. Upon his retirement in 1992 he founded a security firm. The firm's first client was a division of a commercial bank.

Security Service Contract With “Yeliseyevsky” Store

A security service contract executed with “Yeliseyevsky” store — a unique architectural and historical monument in Moscow — was a major step up for the firm. Our organization protected the store for more than 10 years.

In the same year the firm was reorganized as “Legion-X”, a private security enterprise. It was one of the first ten private security enterprises in Moscow to obtain a security service license.

An effective marketing strategy, the word of mouth, the company's individual approach to each client, and a rational recruitment policy enabled the new firm to grow rapidly.

Legion Security Training School

The company established “Legion” Security Training School, a nongovernmental educational institution that trains private security officers.

Three Parts of a Large Structure

The company created three separate departments to ensure effective provision of some of its most important services:

• Technical Department;
• Centralized Security Control Department;
• Operative Response Group.

Year 2001 was a turning point, a serious step forward that marked the beginning of a new phase in the company's development history.

Office in Downtown Moscow

The acquisition of an office space measuring over 500 square metres in downtown Moscow was an important event for the company.

In the same year the company launched its “Emergency Assistance” programme that entails round-the-clock provision of relevant services to the clients, including deployment of the operative response group and legal counselling.

Special Security Enterprises

The company kept growing and expanding the scope of its services. This called for establishment of special security enterprises providing targeted security services, such as personal escort, as well as protection of gated communities and business centres. The additional special security enterprises opened by the company included Inter, Vizir, and Guarding.

Representative Office in St. Petersburg

The company opened its representative office in St. Petersburg in the spring of 2008.

Group of Companies

The enterprise was reorganized as LEGIS Group of Companies.
